Calan DVS Flagship Programmes
We have recently shared details of many of the programmes we have been running over recent months to support Children and Young People (CYP’s). So, we thought we’d take this opportunity to share with you some of our other flagship programmes which our front-line staff have delivered during the Covid-19 pandemic and will continue to do so over the coming month.
The Lighthouse Project
The Lighthouse Project is a National Lottery funded project comprising two separate specialist programmes meeting the complex needs of different target groups within our community. Based upon expert analysis, research, sector expertise and a coproduction model informed by service users, the Lighthouse Project takes a trauma informed approach to supporting male victims of domestic abuse and families where it is known that domestic violence and abuse are a component and are choosing to stay together.
The projects promote stronger and more resilient relationships, safer and lower risk environments for victims of abuse and children and young people. The programmes also provide the foundation for positive behaviour changes and more resilient and fulfilling future relationships whilst educating as to the signs of increased risk and unhealthy behaviours.

The Compass Programme
The Compass Programme focusses on promoting a man’s resilience and well-being following exposure to domestic violence and abuse.
Calan DVS support men that are affected by domestic abuse across South, Mid and West Wales. Our ‘Compass Programme’ is designed to meet the needs of men that are victims in an abusive relationship and can offer a journey of support to recovery.
The Programme’ provides a unique opportunity for male victims to meet and talk in a safe space about their experiences. The programme will help increase self-efficacy and improve mental well-being as well as provide opportunity to understand more about what they have been through.
Male victims attending the programme report that they now better understand the experiences they have been through and feel more confident about their own well-being and the potential for a healthy relationship in the future.
If you are a male victim and require support, please visit our website and contact us via the contact form, telephone or email email@example.com

The Inspiring Families Programme
The Inspiring Families Programme is an assessment programme that can help strengthen and stabilise families.
It is a structured 10-week programme for families that are affected by domestic abuse and it provides professionals with a robust framework to assess the parents’ behaviour, coercive control, disguised compliance, the level of current risk and the likelihood of future risk.
Once the family has been referred and assessed our team will work with the person experiencing domestic abuse, the alleged perpetrator of the abuse and the children that may be affected separately.
The programme helps to raise the awareness of the impact of domestic abuse on themselves and their children and helping them to make any necessary changes.
