Freedom Programme

The Freedom Programme is a domestic violence programme which was created by Pat Craven.

The 10-12 week Programme examines the roles played by attitudes and beliefs on the actions of abusive men and the responses of victims and survivors.

The aim is to help you to make sense of and understand what has happened to you. The Freedom Programme also explores how children and young people are affected by being exposed to domestic abuse.

The Freedom Programme is delivered by Calan DVS specialist support teams in both group and individual sessions and is designed to help participants to build self-esteem and self-confidence. By the end of 2019, we delivered 88 Freedom Programmes to over 600 female victims of domestic abuse.
