Working together to end domestic violence and abuse.

Calan DVS has been awarded an Active Inclusion funding following a successful application process. The Active Inclusion fund is managed by Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA)    supported by funding from European Structural Funds and Calan DVS will be delivering programmes called Shine 16-24 and Bright 25+(NPT), Canlyn 16-24 and Canfod 25+ (Powys)

These projects will support young people aged 16 years to 24 years who are "Not in Education, Employment, or Training" who are living  in the Neath Port Talbot, Bridgend and Powys areas and will focus on empowering individuals and assisting them with employment opportunities by providing training courses, workshops and guidance which can lead to a qualification, volunteering opportunities employment.

These projects will also support adults aged 25+ and unemployed to gain skills and employment.

  • We will help move you into employment by providing fully supported volunteering opportunities with a Level 2 Qualification at the end of your placement.
  • You will gain a nationally recognised full Level 2 Agored Qualification by working with units relevant to real-life needs.
  • You will gain skills in personal budgeting, tenancy rights, assertiveness and confidence.
  • You will have literacy and numeracy help, provided by fully qualified tutors.
  • You will gain skills such as teamwork, problem solving and positive communication through 1:1s and creative group work activities.
  • We work to increase your confidence and motivation by breaking down barriers and providing practical support.
